Happy Independance Day!

Our subdivision had the annual fireworks extravaganza last night. One of our neighbors provides 45 minutes or so of pyrotechnic entertainment for one and all. Folks drive in from all around to see it. The streets are choked with automobiles parked on both sides, leaving a single-lane channel to navigate through. We are fortunate enough need merely to travel to our back yard.

Lauren found the whole affair rather tiring, as did faithful Bella.

Men always find it necessary to compare the size of their fireworks. From the photographs on your blog and on Bob's I would have to say Bob's appears to be bigger.

Thanks for pointing this out. Upon reflection, The Old Curmudgeon supposes it is inevitable that the fireworks display of the fabulous Miramar (whatever it may be) might eclipse that of the fellow down the street setting them off from his yard. Excuses might be offered about the pictures presented not being representative of the display as a whole, but then the stench of defensiveness begins to waft. May we merely suggest that whatever the size of the display, our family.s enjoyment of what we saw was second to none. An educational note: the above defense may be categorized under the "...but I have a pile driving ass" rubric.

Point well taken. If you noticed Bob apologised on his blog for the quality of his photographs. I believe that falls under the 'its not the gun, its the gunner' rubric.
