Our Visit with Ron & Maureen, Part I

We arrived at Indianapolis International Airport on Friday May 23 raring to go. This was the first trans-Atlantic flight for all but Bobbie. First leg of our trip was to Newark, leaving around 5:00 PM.

We left Newark at about 10:00pm. After an all-night flight we were met at the Bristol airport by Ron and our friendly taxi driver Peter (who adeptly navigated the narrow and winding roads through the English countryside). It was a beautiful day and the scenery was fabulous. We arrived shortly in Bath and were ensconced at stately Garner Manor, where Maurene awaited our arrival and offered us the traditional cup of tea.

Lauren is eager to begin her adventure…

And is quite happy with her accomdations.

Ron suggests a short walk might be appreciated after sitting on a plane all day. We didn't, at first, understand that he would be leading us straight up.

The climb was worth the effort. The hills above Bath are part of the Cotswalds.

Undaunted by the physical exertion, two old codgers stand erect for a picture, prior to falling to hands and knees to gasp for air.
