Lions Club Parade
In many parts of the country it is the tradition at Summer's end to hold a Labor Day celebration. However, in this neck of the woods, the Lions Club has, for many years, sponsored a Fall Festival (including a parade) after Labor Day. The Old Curmudgeon leaves it to the reader sort this all out.
Part of the charm of the small town parade is the exhibition of the local fire equipment. Ours is second to none in its attractiveness.
This guy drove his car all the way from England to be in the parade. Note the official British license plate.
Every festival crowns a king and queen.
Hot rodders.
If Uncle Keith saw these guys he'd yell "Hot dog!"
Yeah, all this is nice, but how can you have a parade without a marching band? Exactly:
Grif in step along the route. Temperatures were high, so the hot band uniforms were set aside for more comfortable gear.
Grif's pal Hannah, very mellow with the mellowphone.
After the parade, Grif & his posse made a stop at Frosty Boy
